Hey folks! It’s time for this weeks DaMM! This time around, Mark and Mindy discuss the 2001 Robert Altman flick, Gosford Park. This movie is full of mystery, murder, and more fantastic actors than you can shake a stick at! So grab your valet, and come on down to Sir William McCordle’s estate for a weekend getaway.
Along the way, Mindy discusses Fido, and Mark talks about World’s Greatest Dad. (Which shows a lot more of Robin Williams than most of us care to see).

This week, Mark and Mindy unless their inner celebrities as they review Cameron Crowe’s 2000 film Almost Famous, featuring Billy Crudup, Jason Lee, Kate Hudson, Francis McDormand, Patrick Fugit and many, many, many more famous faces.
Almost Famous is a fictional version of Crowe’s own life as a reporter for Rolling Stone in the 1970s, and as a result, you meet some of the same people he met along the way in a film that is funny, heartbreaking and original, all at the same time.
The show also features a spoiler-heavy discussion of why Mindy hated Orphan, a review of Trick ‘r Treat and Away We Go.

This week Mindy, and her ever sniffling podcasting partner, Mark, welcome a guest. Yohan joins us, on his birthday, to discuss Park Chan-Wook’s ode to vampirism, Thirst(Bakjwi). We discuss what we like about the director’s other films, evil Korean mothers, and Mindy manages to almost set her apartment on fire.
Throw in a discussion about Paranormal Activity, and how it’s word of mouth campaign might be the future of cinema, and you’ve got this weeks show in a nutshell.

Mark and Mindy start off the new year with one of the earliest road trip romantic comedies - Frank Capra’s 1934 film It Happened One Night, starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert.
Ellie (Colbert) is a spoiled heiress who simply wants to run away with the man she’s already eloped with, but when her father refused to allow the marriage to continue, Ellie take offs for New York. On her way, she meets up with Peter (Gable), a washed up journalist who’s just been fired and is looking for redemption. He finds a story but doesn’t expect to find himself falling in love as well.
In addition, Mark and Mindy also take a peek at Pushing Daisies season one and Taking Woodstock.

This is our last show of the year, and we hope you all have had wonderful holiday fun! This show was originally supposed to have been released a week or so ago, but, due to some technical difficulties, it was released this week. Nevertheless, we bring you Love Actually. This movie is packed with so many great actors, and characters, that it ended up being one of our longest shows! We had a great time discussing it though.
Also, Mindy talks about Ju-on.

This week, Mark and Mindy take on Tim Burton’s 1993 holiday classic The Nightmare Before Christmas, which features the voice talent of Danny Elfman, Chris Sarandon, Catherine O’Hara, William Hickey, Paul Reubens and many others.
Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King, decides he wants Halloweentown to experience something different. After a walk in the woods, he discovers Christmastown, and realizes that is precisely what Halloweentown has been missing. But all starts to go wrong after “Sandy Claws” is kidnapped by Lock, Shock and Barrel and delivered to the evil Oogy Boogy.
Also during the show, Mark and Mindy chat about Julie and Julia and Black Sheep.

Happy Holidays folks! It’s that time of the year for giving, receiving, and eating WAY too much food!! We begin our month of December with a newer film from the folks at Disney. That’s right folks, we are doing: Meet The Robinsons. So come and join us for some time travelling fun! Oh, and as for the link that Mindy mentioned, here ya go: Familar looking Kangaroo…

This week, Mark and Mindy are going home for the holidays…or at least trying…as they review the 1987 John Hughes film Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Poor Neal Page (Steve Martin) just wants to get home to his family for Thanksgiving, but everything seems to be working against him. Compounding the situation is the bumbling Del Griffith (John Candy), who seems to be a walking case of Murphy’s Law.
Mark and Mindy also discuss the Korean horror The Red Shoes and Star Trek.

Rounding up the Month of Horrors were take to task two films, both alike in nature, but one (the original) is better than its remake. These films are [Rec], the 2006 film by Juame Balaguero and Paco Plaza, and Quarantine, the 2008 America remake by John Eric Dowdle.
Both films follow the host of While You Were Sleeping and her cameraman as they follow a squad of firefighters. The squad is called to assist with an injured old woman, but find themselves stuck inside of an apartment complex that is being terrorized by the unknown.
It’s the differences that make and break the films. What are they? Well, listen to find out.
Mark and Mindy also briefly discuss the Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood and a documentary about the audition process for 42nd Street.
