Special guest Joseph (Ultact on the interwebs) introduces Mindy and reintroduces Mark to the 1994 Australian comedy The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
Priscilla follows two drag queens and a transsexual who travel across Australia on their way to a performance in a small resort town. The film features fantastic performances from Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce and Terence Stamp. Woven into the earthy color of the Australian outback are beautiful, vibrant costumes, which garnered the film an Oscar for costume design.
The group also talk briefly about Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, the British horror-comedy Psychoville, the Paris Hilton horror Repo! The Genetic Opera and The Wackness.

Join us this week as Mark and Mindy discuss the 1999 film, October Sky. directed by Joe Johnston. This movie stars Chris Cooper, Laura Dern, and Jake Gyllenhaal. It’s the true story of Homer Hickam Jr., and is based on the book he wrote, called Rocket Boys. Homer longs for something more than life in a mining town can offer. One night in October, he and the people of his town see Sputnik fly overhead, and nothing is ever the same after that. So join us for some great performances, and cool tunes of an era gone by. Along the way, we experience some audio problems that actually turn out hilarious! Thank you, mute button, and Neveah!
We also go over some listener mail, discuss District 9, and Inglourious Basterds.
